Overview Yurt Host is a student/hourly position designed to help facilitate the usage of the Blind Hollow Backcountry Ski Yurt. The position will mainly focus on customer service, trail breaking and yurt upkeep. This position is very physically demanding. This is not a guide position. While we provide advice, hosts will not be guiding groups.

Responsibilities

  • Communication with yurt rental groups including a pre-trip meeting
  • Trail maintenance, Breaking trial after storms, 4.5 miles, 2000' of elevation gain
  • Yurt maintenance, shoveling snow and general cleaning
  • Firewood splitting

Qualifications Minimum Qualifications:

  • Wilderness First Aid
  • AVY 1
  • Advanced to expert skier with some backcountry experience
  • Ability to ski tour 9 miles
  • Must have own backcountry ski/ split board equipment
  • Able to shovel snow and lift 30-50lbs repeatedly Preferred Qualifications:

  • Wilderness First Responder

  • Extensive ski touring experience
  • AVY Rescue course Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Self-starter who takes initiative with minimal supervision.
