About the role:

Assess and communicate the availability of more than 100 Barry-Callebaut African cocoa products to our commercial teams in order to support spot sales and business opportunities. She/he consolidates BC’s global demand and confirms alignment with forecast and budget while proposing alternatives in case of deviations. The Global Cocoa demand planning is very closely collaborating with the production planning managers globally and ensures that all African activities (production, shipment, late, alternatives, etc.) are communicated and reported in due time to the receiving Regions.

Key responsibilities:

  • Collect current demand from BC cocoa and chocolate factories (from the regional Planning teams) and third party customers, verify data based on historical figures and forecast accuracy KPIs.

  • Liaise and coordinate with the receiving region stock requirements, including safety stocks.

  • Make proposals to the Regional Planning teams to solve gaps and implement the agreed solutions. Support in global stock management.

  • With the support of the Production Planning Manager and Global traffic team, communicates to the receiving Regions what has been produced vs the production plan, shipped, and any deviance to the plan, including alternatives when applicable.

  • Support the Production Planning Manager monthly with the creation of the production plan (3-month horizon) of the assigned factories. Back up activities when needed, including production orders and third party customers’ production communication to Global Traffic.

  • Confirm availability for African products in accordance with budget and propose alternatives as needed. Request SKU creation when applicable to QA.

  • Join weekly calls with all African factories and follow up on Production, Quality, R&D, and Supply Chain topics.

  • Support the analysis of production and shipments’ execution, review, and update plans based on changing demand and/or production capacities to ensure a smooth supply of raw materials to BC cocoa and chocolate plants.

  • Support that the stock allocation from Africa to other regions is aligned with the golden rule

  • Coordination of correctness of data retrieval. Work on implementing automation tools and leverage existing ones.

  • Collect and analyze data for projects, communicate BC requirements, and coordinate project implementation.

About you:

  • University degree in economics or equivalent.

  • Solution-driven, with high analytical skills and reporting abilities.

  • Excel proficiency with excellent analytical and reporting abilities.

  • 2 years of professional experience in Supply Chain, preferably in International companies.

  • Strong analytical skills, rigorous, good communication, proactive & reactive problem-solving.

  • Experience and/or exposure to Soft commodities a plus.

  • Facility to navigate with several IT platforms (SAP, APO…)

  • APICS certification is a plus (Supply Chain certification).

  • English proficiency and other languages are highly valued.

  • Eager to learn and with the ability to consolidate and analyze complex data.

  • Strong capacity to communicate clearly in a multicultural environment.
