Hours: RN position for the Operating Room, full time, eight hour shifts with rotation. 7-3,8-4,9-5,10-6 No weekends, Holidays or call.
Summary:
The Operating Nurse anticipates and fulfills the needs of the patients, coordinates activities in room, and communicates effectively with staff and others. He/she assures that documentation is appropriate, accurate, and complete. The Operating Nurse collaborates with other disciplines to revise the patient care plans according to changing patient needs. He/she also ensures individual skills are current by attending relevant education programs and maintaining status.
Responsibilities:
EDUCATION
Must be a graduate of an accredited school of nursing
Current registration as a Registered Professional Nurse in the State of New York
BSN strongly preferred
BLS Certification required
EXPERIENCE
Two (2) years of acute care experience required
One (1) year of operating room experience or completion of a postgraduate perioperative program preferred
KNOWLEDGE, SKILL AND ABILITY
Strong verbal and written communication skills
Computer skills
Ability to communicate with all levels of staff including physicians, etc.
WORKING CONDITIONS:
The position required heavy physical demands of lifting, positioning patients and moving equipment
Works on a nursing unit and in patient rooms
