Base Pay: $19.00 to $25.00 per hour

Position Summary

This position performs tasks involving physical labor at construction sites. Operates hand and power tools of all types: air hammers, earth tampers, concrete mixers, small mechanical hoists, surveying and measuring equipment, and a variety of other equipment and instruments. Cleans and prepares sites, digs trenches, sets braces to support the sides of excavations, and cleans up rubble and debris.

Principle Accountabilities

  • Performs all work in accordance with established safety procedures. Keeps equipment and work area clean and orderly while at jobsite. returns all tools back to truck, after use, to the proper storage location.

  • Observes jobsites for unsafe hazards or conditions. Communicates with onsite management to mitigate risks if they exist. Operates, reads, and maintains air monitoring and other sampling devices in confined and/or hazardous environments.

  • Utilizes a variety of hand tools and power tools to perform all work and/or repairs. Measures, marks, and records openings and distances to lay out areas where construction work will be performed. Builds and positions forms for pouring concrete and dismantles forms after use. Finishes concrete with various floats and/or other concrete tools.

  • Maintains accurate records of all inspections and/or work performed.

  • Checks vehicles prior to driving to ensure that mechanical, safety, and emergency equipment is in good working order; advises supervisor of any issues after daily inspections are completed. Follows established company safety, and OSHA guidelines.

Qualifications

Position Requirements

The ideal candidate will possess demonstrated experience in precast or other heavy industrial setting. Other desired qualifications include:

  • Preferred Education: High School Diploma or G.E.D.

  • Preferred Experience: Between 2 and 5 years

  • 2+ years of experience working in the construction industry - Required

  • Ability to read and interpret production drawings - Required

  • Skilled with the use of tools and measurement devices

  • Driver's License - Required
