Description:

Responsible for the overall implementation, advancement, and management of the national diversity, equity, and inclusion strategic plan in assigned geographies (Illinois, Indiana, Ohio). This includes working closely with senior leaders across the organization to ensure initiatives, resources and tools are effectively leveraged to produce equitable outcomes that aligns and supports organizational goals. Identifies programmatic development needs/opportunities and provides planning and leadership to achieve effective program implementation. Leads a diverse team and is responsible for building and maintaining relationships with senior leadership including the Regional Health Ministry (RHM) President/CEO, Regional Chief Human Resources Officer, and Clinical Leaders, to advance diversity, equity, and inclusion across the ministries. Serves as a member on the regional executive leadership team and contributes to the overall strategy and success of the region.

Role Overview: We are seeking a visionary and dynamic LEADER to lead and advance our national DEI strategic plan across Illinois, Indiana, and Ohio. This role will involve working closely with senior leaders to ensure that our DEI initiatives align with organizational goals and drive meaningful change.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Strategic Leadership: Champion the implementation and advancement of Trinity Health’s DEI strategic plan. Collaborate with senior leaders to ensure effective utilization of resources and tools to achieve equitable outcomes that support our organizational objectives.

  • Program Development: Identify and address programmatic needs and opportunities. Provide leadership and strategic planning to implement DEI initiatives effectively. Analyze data and environmental factors to develop and adapt systematic plans that meet ambitious yet achievable goals.

  • Stakeholder Engagement: SERVE as a DEI resource and facilitator, representing our commitment to diversity and inclusion. Build and maintain strong relationships with senior leadership, including the RHM President/CEO, Regional Chief Human Resources Officer, and Clinical Leaders.

  • Team Leadership: Lead and inspire a diverse team. Foster a collaborative and inclusive work environment that supports the professional development of team members and advances our DEI goals.

  • Internal Partnerships: Forge and maintain relationships with various departments (e.g ., Quality, Safety , H ealth Informatics and Analytics, community health, advocacy) to align with our DEI strategic plan and drive organizational change.

  • Executive Collaboration: Serve on the regional executive leadership team. Contribute to the overall strategy and success of regional initiatives. Communicate DEI progress and updates to the RHM Board of Directors quarterly.

  • Clinical Integration: Work with clinical leadership to integrate DEI principles into patient care standards. Continually assess and enhance services to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and improve patient care outcomes.

  • Consultation and Advocacy: Provide expert consultation and build awareness of the business case for diversity and inclusion. Develop and implement DEI measures, programs, and practices to support organizational success.

  • Team Development: Promote an inclusive team culture. Ensure that our workforce remains engaged and aligned with organizational goals.

  • Budget Management: Develop and manage the annual budget for DEI programs. Ensure efficient resource allocation to support DEI initiatives and meet organizational goals.

  • Professional Growth: Engage in ongoing professional development to stay current with DEI trends, clinical best practices, and business opportunities.

  • Regulatory Compliance: Maintain knowledge of relevant laws, regulations, and organizational policies to ensure adherence to ethical and professional standards.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Organizational Behavior, Health Care Administration, Public Health, Business Administration, Nursing, Social Work, HR Management or a related field is required.

  • Seven to ten years of experience in strategic planning, training facilitation, and leadership, including at least five years focused on diversity, equity, and inclusion or organizational development.

  • Proven ability to operate effectively in a collaborative, shared leadership environment.

  • Strong personal presence characterized by integrity, empathy, and the ability to inspire and motivate others.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively at all levels of the organization.

  • Demonstrated strategic planning and project management skills, with a successful track record in implementing DEI strategies.

  • Visionary mindset, creativity, and a deep passion for advancing diversity, equity, and inclusion.

  • Effective facilitation skills to manage challenging conversations and drive change.
