We are looking for a Mechanical Engineering Intern to join our growing team in the Advanced Engineering Department for the Fall Semester of 2024. This is an onsite 40-hour-per-week paid internship position located in Livonia, MI.Watch This Short Video to Learn More About Advanced Engineering at Roush! ResponsibilitiesSupport design efforts utilizing SolidWorksSupport build/assembly effortsDiagnose problems and conduct root cause analysisCoordinate with other engineering groups and fabrication shopSupport product development testingWork on unique engineering problems and challenge your engineering skillsApply your academic knowledge to real world engineering challengesTackle unique challenges never taken on beforeMinimum QualificationsMust be able to work a 40 hour work week from August 2024 - December 2024Must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. lawful permanent resident allowing for International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) complianceMust currently be pursuing a bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering; Mechanical or Mechatronics preferredMust have a minimum of freshman standingValid driver's license Must be proficient in MS OfficeMust have a strong desire to learn engineering system design & development, or manufacturing as it is related to the automotive industryMust love working on vehicles and/or mechanical systemsAbility to think outside the box and enjoy research and development type activitiesPreferred QualificationsFormula SAE/Baja experienceHands-on automotive/mechanical diagnosis and repair experienceCAD experience (SolidWorks, Catia V5/V6 or similar)Prior internship experience in an automotive related environment Interest in electric and autonomous vehicles and technologyOur part-time benefits include: Earned sick time and 401K.
