The Material Planner II will work with suppliers to deliver the right material at the correct quantity and at the right time to meet production schedules. The role will communicate with suppliers, purchasing and the production scheduling team.As a Material Planner II, you will be responsible for:Ensuring continuous production by utilizing the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) system's material and production requirements, with a focus on forecast and dependent demandCommunicating and coordinating with suppliers to ensure they receive planning generated purchase orders or releases, as well as forecastsDeveloping recovery plans with suppliers and operations to resolve supply shortfallsDeveloping and leveraging relationships with suppliers and operations to identify potential future problems to avoid production disruptionsEscalating and resolving any issues or discrepancies found during the planning process to the appropriate cross-functional team membersEffectively managing material requirement changes resulting from Engineering Change Orders (ECOs) and forecast changesWorking closely with the operations team to ensure any changes in the schedule are covered and can be achievedParticipating in program end of life balance out meetingsFollowing up and tracking the delivery of material to meet the schedule. The planner is responsible for tracking down and reporting supplier shipments and other duties as requiredAnalyzing expedite requests as neededMaintaining compliance with all company policies and proceduresTo be considered as a Material Planner II, you will need:High school diploma or equivalent with 5 years of experience or a Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management or related field with no experienceAbility to be effective in a fast paced, dynamic team environment, handling multiple tasksMust be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitudeAbility to work independently and to carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practicesAbility to be flexible and adjust to changing workloadGood professional judgment, excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external stakeholdersExcellent computer skills including MS Office -- Word, Excel (advanced formulas, pivots, if/then), OutlookAbility to travel locally 5% of the timeA successful candidate may also have:3 year of supply chain experienceBasic understanding of how a supply chain flows from the supplier's supplier to our customer's customer as well as general business practicesProven ability to solve complex issues by triaging for short term recovery as well as identifying root causeAbility to assist the team in putting corrective actions in placeSolid understanding of materials flow and inventory triggersSelf-starter who seeks out ways to improve processes before being askedAssociation for Supply Chain Manag
