In this position...

You will lead an engineering team to develop and deliver new manufacturing machining and assembly processes.

What you'll do...

  • Be the voice of the plant in aluminum machining and assembly process development for 10R transmissions

  • Plan, engineer, and implement product and capacity programs for aluminum machining and assembly with PTOME and LTP Engineer’s

  • Collaborate and work closely with plant process supervisors, manufacturing engineering, ergonomics, and/or plant personnel. This includes aligning with Staff counterparts regarding line layouts, equipment verification processes, machine and assembly capabilities and equipment safety requirements.

  • Manage the workload of the assigned engineering team

  • Maintain a safe work environment and team behavior

  • Confirm standards are in place

  • Develop highly competent and motivated people

  • Create a conducive work environment for the team to complete their assigned responsibilities / tasks

  • Ensure completion of administrative responsibilities

You'll have...

  • Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering

  • Experience: 5 years engineering experience

  • Aluminum Machining and/or Assembly experience

  • Strong problem solving skills

  • Strong ability to interface with plant hourly, salaried personnel and plant management

  • Strong ability to present in front of plant management

  • Competent in the use of data for decision making

  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing

  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team

  • Have the ability to work and multi-task in a fast pace environment

  • Have the ability to work well under pressure and crisis management situations

Even better, you may have…

  • Launch experience preferred

  • Certified Six Sigma Black Belt preferred

  • Strong planning and organizational skills

  • Experience working in a team environment

  • Detailed knowledge of MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, etc.)

  • Ergonomic analysis knowledge and experience

This position is a leadership salary grade LL6.
