Large utility is looking for a Gas Service Designer in Livonia, MI. The Gas Service Designer is responsible for utilizing CAD and GIS software to design and support utility systems, coordinating projects with internal teams, and ensuring compliance with industry standards through planning, analysis, and fieldwork. responsibilities:

• Utilize CAD and GIS software for utility system design and analysis.

• Identify appropriate system materials and their applications.

• Prepare work orders and update associated forms and system application data.

• Engage in planning, research, and project coordination with internal departments, contractors, and leadership.

• Provide field design and support for utility systems, including site visits for data collection and verification.

• Apply utility design and construction standards to ensure project compliance.

• Incorporate design changes and revisions into existing technical drawings and plans.

Skills:

• Proficiency in CAD software (MicroStation V8i/v10, AutoCAD, OpenPlant).

• Experience with GIS software.

• Knowledge of utility operations and standards.

• Problem-solving abilities using existing computer-based solutions.

• Technical writing skills.

• Good interpersonal skills for project planning and coordination.

• Proficiency in MS Windows applications.

Education and Experience:

• Technical or Engineering Associate Degree, or equivalent experience required.

• 2-4 years of experience required.

• 4-7 years preferred.
