ROUSH Architectural CAD Drafter in Livonia, Michigan

The CAD Drafter within the Facilities Department works along with Project Managers and Facilities Staff Architect to produce drawings for office reconfigurations, equipment installations, and other building modifications. The CAD Drafter uses knowledge of construction practices, Building Code requirements, and technical information about building components, furniture, equipment, and utility systems for the department to remodel, upgrade, and expand company facilities.
As a CAD Drafter, you will:
Produce architectural plans, sketches, construction drawings, and details for construction and renovation projects
Coordinate equipment and building systems information (including plumbing, mechanical, electrical, lighting, process workflow, and other systems)
Support projects team with building information about existing facilities
Maintain and update record drawings of existing facilities, equipment, furniture, etc.
Perform field measurements and prepare record drawings from measurements and notes
Layout office furniture configurations for new space configurations
To be considered as a CAD Drafter, you will need:
Associate’s degree in architectural drafting or related field from an accredited college
3 years related experience in architecture, construction engineering, or related field or equivalent combination of education w/experience
Ability to read, understand and create construction drawings, and a good understanding of
commercial construction practices
Excellent verbal, written, and interpersonal skills
Initiative to work independently and handle several assignments simultaneously
Ability to absorb and apply new technical assignments independently
Follow all aspects of project workflow and execute department project processes.
Complete project responsibilities to best support project scope with prompt timing
Preferred Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in architecture, construction engineering, or related field
Experience with Autodesk AutoCAD software
Experience with HVAC, electrical, and/or plumbing systems
Other relevant commercial construction experience
Administration and maintenance of departmental plotters and graphics equipment
Assist with development and update of standards for design and construction
Ability to print, mount, and laminate corporate graphics and signage
