Pre-Transplant Coordinators provide education and guidance to patients on their journey to receiving a transplant. Qualifications:
Required:
Must be a graduate from an accredited school of nursing
Successful completion of all Orientation Programs
Preferred:
Bachelor s degree preferred
Certified Clinical Transplant Coordinator (CCTC) certification
Experience in renal dialysis and /or transplantation
Certifications and Licenses Required:
Registered Nurse License in the state of New Jersey
Basic Life Support (BLS) from the American Heart Association
Phlebotomy certification (must seek and maintain)
Scheduling Requirements:
Full-time
37.5 hrs weekly
Days - Monday-Friday 8am to 4pm
No weekends or major holidays
No overnight or weekend on-call
Essential Functions:
Coordinates all aspects of the evaluation/listing process for deceased donor and living donor transplantation for Chronic Kidney Disease patients. Coordinates organ procurement with the New Jersey Sharing Network through shared on-call responsibility. Acts as liaison between Saint Barnabas and all referring dialysis centers and referring MDs. Ensures continuity of care through effective communication and collaboration with the multidisciplinary team in all areas of the transplant department. Uses an understanding of the principles of growth and development to assess each patient s age-specific needs and provide age-specific treatment. 100% of job responsibilities are pre-transplant no time study is required.
