Job Summary:
The Staff Accountant is responsible for recording and managing financial transactions, maintaining the general ledger, reconciling accounts, preparing financial statements, generating reports, ensuring the accuracy of a company’s financial records by following established accounting principles and procedures. This role will report to the Corporate Controller.
Duties and Responsibilities:
Monitor slow moving inventory and work closely with branches to help facilitate a sale or transfer
Support month-end close process that includes journal entries, inventory analysis, account reconciliations
Create monthly financial reports for the income statement, balance sheet, and statement of cashflows
Improve financial status by analyzing results, monitoring variances to budgets and forecasts, and identifying trends in data
Assist and identify areas of improvement to overall AP process
Maintain and reconcile database for sales tax using Avalara
Increases productivity by developing automated accounting applications, coordinating information requirements
Other ad-hoc financial reports as required
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting/Finance/ Business. Equivalent work experience will be considered in lieu of degree
Strong fluency with Excel formulas and functions
High proficiency in financial modeling techniques
Self-starter with excellent interpersonal communication and problem-solving skills
Ability to protect confidential data
