HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

This position is responsible for preparing general ledger (“GL”) journal entries, month-end close procedures, and cost accounting. The ideal candidate has an excellent attention to detail, strong analytical skills and a thorough understanding of US GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles).

Reports to the Sr Manager - Accounting.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • Primary responsible for the Cost Accounting and G/L Accounting function of the company.

  • Perform Excess and Obsolete analysis.

  • Maintain standard cost in the Oracle system

  • Perform variance analysis that resulted from the manufacturing process.

  • Perform inventory JSOX controls (i.e. cycle counts, Overhead rates, consigned inventory)

  • Perform the monthly cost accounting and inventory journal entries and reconciliations.

  • Perform day-to-day accounting and monthly close activities in support of the corporate financial reporting.

  • Perform monthly, quarterly, and year-end close process activities as directed by the Sr. Manager - Accounting. Manages FloQast system used to drive close processes.

  • Generate journal entries and accruals for month-end close.

  • Manages GL account structure and maintenance of automated monthly recurring entries.

  • Perform monthly balance sheet review and reconciliations.

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly financial statement preparation in accordance with GAAP.

  • Support the annual budgeting and monthly forecasting process

  • Promote a team effort environment by assisting other members of the Accounting Department as needed.

  • Prepare/review audit schedules and work paper documents, aid Sr. Manager - Accounting in responding to auditor questions and escalate issues as needed.

  • Troubleshoot any recurring process issues, determining root cause and driving solutions.

  • Perform other related duties as may be reasonably assigned in the course of business.

    WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting

  • 3+ year’s general ledger experience.

  • 5+ year’s cost accounting experience.

  • Positive attitude and high level of enthusiasm

  • Proficient with reconciliations

  • Experience with Oracle business software.

  • Proficient in Windows–based PC software packages including spreadsheet and word processing (Excel and Word, etc.)

  • Strong interpersonal and analytical skills and proven problem-solving skills.

  • Good communication skills, both verbal and written.

  • Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects and work independently.

  • Ability to collaborate when required

  • Attention to detail.

    Preferred Skills:

  • MBA or MS in Accounting or Tax.

  • 7+ years GL experience.

  • 7+ year’s cost accounting experience.

  • CPA is a plus.

  • Advanced Excel skills is a plus.

    Physical & Environmental requirements:

  • A typical day requires continuous sitting and/or standing in an office setting with occasional breaks. Standing and walking around 100k sq. ft. facility extensively throughout the day.

  • Able to comfortably lift 35 pounds without injury.

  • Occasionally ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like.

  • Occasionally moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.

  • Occasionally remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.

  • Constantly moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.

  • Occasionally adjusting or moving objects up to 100 pounds in all directions.

  • Constantly communicating with others to exchange information.

  • Constantly repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

  • Occasionally operating machinery and/or power tools.

  • Constantly assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.

  • Occasionally subjected to low temperatures and high temperatures.
