HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

  • Incumbents work with specific instructions and general supervision as directed by the Facilities Manager or the specific supervisor (Manufacturing, Materials/Warehouse, HR, etc.) on project-oriented activities.

  • The Facility Technician will be required to work independently on specific tasks or duties (e.g.: transporting supplies, custodial duties, maintenance, etc.).

  • The Facility Technician will be required to work as part of a crew or team on project-oriented tasks.

    Achievement of objectives must include an over-riding commitment to quality that must permeate the areas of responsibility. Enable and Drive Change in the Organization.

    WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • Assist Facilities Manager with project management of office expansion and construction.

  • Assist and coordinate with space planning, furniture moves, and employee seating.

  • Assist Facilities Manager with vendors and contractors (property, construction, furniture)

  • Maintain day-to-day facility needs and custodial requirements in common areas, manufacturing floors, office areas, and conference rooms.

  • Assist in light lifting and moving of equipment, supplies, and furniture.

  • Assist with managing onsite maintenance of overall facility.

  • Work with vendors and contractors with preventative maintenance and repair service visits.

  • Work with janitorial staff to ensure all employees are greeted with a clean working environment.

  • Attend to facility to maintain a clean, organized, and well-kept appearance.

  • Perform related tasks as needed.

  • Weekly travel to additional facility in San Jose to perform needed repairs and maintenance.

  • Perform daily equipment and facility checks.

  • Participate in the employee Safety Committee.

  • Learn and perform 6S inspections.

  • Address and resolve maintenance issues promptly to ensure safety.

  • Carry out minor repairs and troubleshooting for electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and HVAC systems.

  • Ensure compliance with all safety regulations and company policies.

  • Conduct regular safety inspections (eye for safety).

  • Manage and maintain inventory of maintenance supplies, tools, and equipment.

  • Coordinate with Facility Manager to order necessary supplies and materials for maintenance and repair tasks.

  • Maintaining records and preparing reports on maintenance activities.

    WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • High school diploma or equivalent, plus 3+ years of work-related experience in lieu of education is acceptable.

  • Must have a valid California Driver’s License and clean driving record.

  • Must possess basic computer skills.

  • Ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously is required.

  • Ability to work independently and reliably to complete assigned tasks.

  • Organizational and time management skills needed.

  • Must have strong attention to detail.

  • Must possess strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to safely use basic hand tools.

  • Ability to operate forklift a plus.

  • Must have ability to maintain productive relations and positive attitude with others.

  • Must be proactive and solve issues before they arise.

  • Must have a desire to learn new skills.

  • Must have ability to work normal hours and willingness to work weekends on occasion.

  • Availability for on-call emergencies and flexibility to work evenings or weekends as needed.

    Physical & Environmental Requirements:

  • Ability to lift to 50 lbs.

  • Ability to handle materials including lifting, stacking, etc.

  • Occasionally ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps and the like.

  • Constantly moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.

  • Occasionally remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.

  • Occasionally moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.

  • Constantly communicating with others to exchange information.

  • Constantly repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

  • Occasionally operating motor vehicles.

  • Constantly assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.

  • Occasional exposure to low temperatures and high temperatures

  • Occasional sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.

  • Occasional light work that includes moving objects up to 20 pounds

  • Prolonged use of computer monitors.
