HOW YOU MAKE AN IMPACT

As an EHS Specialist you will be responsible for planning, implementing, and enforcing an organization’s Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) policies and procedures. Strong emphasis on ESG, evaluating and improving Ferrotec’s performance in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) dimensions. You will conduct thorough data analyses, develop strategies to enhance ESG practices at our organization, and collaborate with various stakeholders to implement initiatives that align with our commitment to sustainability and ethical business practices.

Reports to the Manager of Facilities.

WHAT SUCCESS LOOKS LIKE

  • Develop and implement environmental compliance plans, policies and procedures in accordance with Federal, state and local regulations.

  • Ensure proper permits and timely payments of fees are in place and done addressing any environmental regulations the facility is required to have.

  • Develop and implement safety plans, procedures, policies and training in accordance with Federal, state and local OSHA standards.

  • Monitor and inspect the facility and its equipment to ensure compliance.

  • Investigate accidents and hazardous conditions and recommend corrective measures.

  • Conduct safety training and awareness programs.

  • Monitor and suggest the use of safety equipment and personal protective equipment.

  • Stay informed of changes in safety regulations and legislation to ensure compliance.

  • Ensure that all safety-related documentation and records are properly maintained and updated.

  • Respond to safety and health-related inquiries and complaints.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to integrate ESG considerations into business strategies and operations.

  • Analyze and interpret data related to ESG factors and prepare reports for internal and external stakeholders.

  • Develop and implement strategies to enhance environmental sustainability, social responsibility and governance practices.

  • Engage with internal and external partners to stay informed of industry best practices and regulatory changes related to ESG.

  • Support the preparation of ESG reports for regulatory compliance and for customer supply chain requirements.

  • Participate in stakeholder engagement activities and addressing inquiries related to ESG practices.

  • Lead efforts in responding to customer ESG and compliance surveys in areas of REACH, RoHS, TSCA, PFAS. POP, CMRT and EMRT.

  • Work with Operations and Quality Control teams to develop strong internal product audit systems.

  • Lead efforts in SBTI program development, implementation, and audit.

  • Propose ESG policy initiatives and work with managers to successfully adopt and implement policies.

    WHAT YOU NEED TO BE SUCCESSFUL

  • 3-5 years of experience within an EHS role or an equivalent combination of formal education and the following job-related experience

  • Bachelors' degree in Environmental Science, Sustainability, EHS or related field

  • Experience in ESG, Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Sustainability, Environmental Health and Safety (EHS) compliance, and analysis and reporting

  • Knowledge of ESG frameworks, standards, and reporting methodologies

  • Strong analytical skills and proficiency with data analysis tools

  • Excellent project management, communication, and presentation skills

  • Collaborate with and lead cross-functional teams

  • Detail-oriented and strategic mindset

  • Understanding of the regulatory requirements related to E,HS, ESG and CSR work

  • Ability to work independently

    Physical & Environmental requirements:

  • A typical day requires continuous sitting and/or standing in an office setting with occasional breaks. Standing and walking around 100k sq. ft. facility extensively throughout the day.

  • Able to comfortably lift 35 pounds without injury.

  • Occasionally ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like.

  • Occasionally moving self in different positions to accomplish tasks in various environments including tight and confined spaces.

  • Occasionally remaining in a stationary position, often standing, or sitting for prolonged periods.

  • Constantly moving about to accomplish tasks or moving from one worksite to another.

  • Constantly communicating with others to exchange information.

  • Constantly repeating motions that may include the wrists, hands and/or fingers.

  • Occasionally operating machinery and/or power tools.

  • Constantly assessing the accuracy, neatness and thoroughness of the work assigned.

  • Occasionally subjected to low temperatures and high temperatures.

  • Occasional sedentary work that primarily involves sitting/standing.
