Suwannee River Water Management District Computer Systems Support Specialist in Live Oak, Florida

[Job Summary: [The Computer Systems Support Specialist assists and provides support for all types of technical issues affecting the organization, such as software problems, workstation issues, network equipment issues, and hardware failures. The position is responsible for the overall maintenance of the District's computer hardware and software.

  • Oversee the daily performance and maintenance of critical IT systems, including endpoint devices (Windows Workstations and Windows Servers), network communications (local and wide area), file storage and retrieval systems, VOIP telephones, GIS, record document imaging, retrieval and retention, printers, Help Desk, and District website and intranet.
  • Ensure best security practices are being implemented.
  • Troubleshoot and identify problems with computer and network hardware.
  • Perform preventative maintenance on Windows Servers and Windows Workstations, which includes operating system upgrades, patches, and driver updates.
  • Provision user accounts and assist with management of Windows Active Directory.
  • Assist the CIO in setting project priorities.
  • Research, recommend, and requisition equipment purchases.
  • Initiate and continue maintenance agreements.
  • Research, purchase, configure and deploy new systems.
  • Install and perform minor repairs to hardware, software, or peripheral equipment. Following design or installation specifications.
  • Provide responsive and professional help desk support and thoroughly document ticket resolution.
  • Maintain and support audio/visual equipment.
  • Assist with monthly Governing Board meeting proceedings.
  • Maintain an accurate inventory of all District owned technology equipment.
  • Assist in disaster recovery testing and best practices.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
