The role you’ll contribute:

As a member of the organization’s leadership team, provide operational leadership, oversight and a collaborative spirit ensuring that AdventHealth's Christian identity, mission and core values and Mission Integration priorities are effectively communicated and integrated into all facets of the organization. Lead the development, implementation and evaluation of initiatives that support the faith-based culture of the Hospital, including ethics formation, spiritual care of staff and patients, leadership ministry formation, core values education, engagement of faith communities, global ministries community benefit program, development and implementation and strengthening and developing partnerships with community stakeholders. Works in close collaboration with the Regional Vice President of Mission Integration to preserve and enhance the identity and heritage of the Sponsors while engendering systemic mission alignment.

The value you’ll bring to the team:

  • Work with President/CEO and Group VP Mission Integration to implement the Enterprise Mission Integration Plan and assess organizational progression.

  • Ensure AdventHealth’s Christian identity, Mission, Vision and Values are translated into actions, behaviors and decisions that establishes and nurtures a positive culture and sense of community with pride and ownership in the mission.

  • Influence the organization in appropriate utilization of Mission & Ministry resources effectively and efficiently.

  • In collaboration with Regional Director of Community Health, support and collaborate with Community Health and Well-Being planning and development to ensure alignment with the AdventHealth corporate and regional priorities and

  • Ensure Community Benefit compliance with 501(c)(3) regulatory requirements, 990 and Schedule H reporting, leads or assists in the completion and publication of the Community Health Needs Assessment and Health Improvement plan for the organization.

  • Operational responsibility for Spiritual Care Services and workplace spirituality; collaborate with Group Mission leaders for shared planning and priority determination.

  • Ensure pastoral/spiritual care is integrated within the organization and continuum of care;

  • Spiritual Care, AdventHealth’s Model for the delivery of spiritual and religious care.

  • Provide and/or organize the provision of spiritual care, visitation, education, counseling services and worship experiences as requested in a manner that provides reasonable consideration of in dividual/group’s background, culture, religion and heritage.

  • Provide direct spiritual care as appropriate; delivers direct staff support through regular rounding on units and with leadership.

Qualifications

The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed:

  • Education:Master of Divinity or equivalent (e.g. Master of Spiritual Care) from an accredited program.

  • One unit CPE at hire or within 6 months of hire.

  • Four units CPE within 2 years of hire and Board Certification within 3 years of hire.

  • Experience:At least one year of experience in a ministry setting, preferably health care.

  • Member of the Seventh day Adventist Church

  • Commissioned, licensed, or ordained minister of the Seventh day Adventist Church
