Cattaraugus County Principal Engineering Technician in Little Valley, New York
The Principal Engineering Technician position is characterized by the performance of technical tasks in support of assigned engineering programs and projects. General instruction is provided but this position typically works with relative independence in selecting methods to resolve problems, collect and evaluate information, make recommendations, and carry out construction projects from scoping to preliminary design through completion. A broader range of engineering techniques, procedures, technical materials, judgement, and exercise of more independence is required. This position may be assigned to act as Engineer-in-Charge of a project, directing the technical work of Road Section Supervisors and their crews. A Principal Engineering Technician does related work as required.
