The Strategic Account Manager will lead the company’s efforts to grow existing relationships with key and Strategic Medical Device Components accounts. The Strategic Account Manager will represent our entire range of products and services to their assigned customers. This person will provide leadership, direction, and solution-oriented thinking to link the customer’s and MDC’s operation teams. This individual will ensure advocacy for the customer and work closely with internal stakeholders to provide solutions that fulfill our customers’ needs with speed, accuracy, and exceptional communication.

Your responsibilities:

  • Operates as the lead point of contact for any and all matters specific to assigned customers

  • Develop and foster long lasting customer relationships by working directly with assigned customers

  • Work to understand customer requirements and be able to hold both the customer and MDC accountable to commitments

  • Develop and manage revenue goals for each assigned customer and construct strategies to optimize margins and expand revenue

  • Ensure strategic account plans are developed and continually updated in line with the Company’s strategic plans and with alignment with our strategic customer’s needs and expectations

  • Analyses the impacts of any changes to strategic customer’s purchase patterns or requirements and communicates to internal stakeholders accordingly and collaborate on action planning

  • Communicate to each customer specific mechanisms which will lead to higher customer satisfaction (i.e., blanket orders, forecast meetings, level loading, supply agreements, quality business reviews, KPIs)

  • Analyses sales and marketing data to determine the most effective strategies to increase sales with assigned customers

  • Maintain a monthly revenue forecast for all assigned customers

  • Manage supply contracts with guidance and approval from Finance, Sales, and Legal

  • Work closely with Sales Coordinators to ensure quotes, contract reviews, order acknowledgements and product returns are completed accurately and timely

  • Work closely with Business Development Managers to complement MDC’s value and offerings

  • Travels within assigned territory to conduct face-to-face meetings with existing and potential customers by planning and organizing daily work schedule

  • Other duties may be assigned

Requirements for the role:

  • MBA or Advanced Degree

  • Demonstrated experience (7+ years) in Operations, Supply Chain, Engineering, or Project/Account Management with Medical Devices or a related field

  • Demonstrated experience of internal and external manufacturing operation systems and processes (MRP, capacity, level-loading, and team structure)

  • Strong Microsoft Office aptitude, specifically in Excel and PowerPoint, desirable

  • Proven account/project management experience, able to stay very well organized

  • Fluency with Profit and Loss (P&L) statements and full understanding of the associated components and how they impact profitability

  • Demonstrated ability to communicate, present and influence credibly and effectively at all levels of the organization, including executive and C-level

  • Experience in delivering client-focused solutions based on customer needs

  • Excellent negotiation skills

  • Excellent verbal and written communication/presentation skills

  • Highly responsive customer service attitude

  • Data analysis expertise desirable
