Pulaski County Special School District Groundskeeper in Little Rock, Arkansas

QUALIFICATIONS:

High school diploma/GED

Two (2) years experience or equivalent in groundskeeping or related field

One year building maintenance experience

One year heavy equipment operation

Valid Arkansas driver’s license

REPORTS TO: Grounds Foreman

JOB GOAL: To help maintain the physical school plant in a condition of operating excellence so that full educational use of it may be made at all times.

PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES :

  1. Assist grounds foreman in construction of and maintaining facilities grounds.

  2. Comply with safety regulations.

  3. Set up equipment and operate to perform assigned jobs.

  4. Assist grounds crew in repair and maintenance of the grounds of buildings including fencing, pest control, and drainage

  5. Assist in playground safety, maintenance, and inspection.

  6. Demonstrate the proper use and maintenance of all hand/power tools and grounds equipment.

  7. Some building maintenance.

  8. Some heavy equipment operation.

  9. Work with and assist other staff/trades as directed.

  10. Perform some heavy lifting.

  11. Perform work at varying heights on a ladder.

  12. Perform work in extreme weather conditions.

  13. Perform work underneath, on top of, and in attics of buildings.

  14. Respond to after hour emergencies.

  15. Perform other duties as assigned.

TERMS OF EMPLOYMENT :

Salary Range: Range 11 - Support Staff Hourly Salary Schedule ($15.84/hr. - $29.03/hr. depending on relevant experience)

Length of Contract:: 244 contract days

FLSA Status: Non - Exempt

Personnel Status: Classified

EVALUATION :

Performance of this job will be evaluated according to provisions of the Board's policy on Evaluation of Support Staff Personnel.
