Oracle Consulting Member of Technical Staff in Little Rock, Arkansas

Job Description

As a member of the Infrastructure Delivery Engineering (IDE) team, you will take an active role in the automation and acceleration of infrastructure delivery. Define specifications for significant new projects and specify, design and develop software according to those specifications. You will perform professional software development tasks associated with the developing, designing and debugging of software applications focused on building cloud infrastructure in scale.

Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.

Candidate Profile

  • BS or MS degree in CS or equivalent experience relevant to functional area

  • 10+ years’ experience designing, developing and operating large scale, highly available distributed systems

  • Strong knowledge of C, C++ or Java, and experience with scripting languages such as Python, Perl, etc.

  • Service fundamentals: understanding the building blocks of critical IaaS services, such as Compute, Block Storage, Networking.

  • Demonstrable knowledge of data structures, algorithms, operating systems, distributed systems fundamentals. Experience with clouds is a plus!

  • Working familiarity with operating systems internals, networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures

  • Strong troubleshooting and performance tuning skills

  • Experience building multi-tenant, virtualized infrastructure is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

As a technical leader you will be working with teams of engineers and contributing to:

  • Design, implementation, testing and operating the most critical parts of Cloud Delivery services

  • Driving the engineering quality of the product

  • Designing architectures that span many products, enable high availability, scalability, market-leading features, and flexibility to meet future business demands

  • Defining the bar for ops and engineering practices, and helping teams achieve those goals

  • Participate in hiring and mentoring the next wave of technical leaders on the team

  • Identify and mitigate deep technical risks across our full set of systems, particularly at the intersection of business and engineering

US: Hiring Range: from $96,800 to $251,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

  8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
