Carpenter Co Machine Operator in Lititz, Pennsylvania
The machine operator will be responsible for running the 50-88, 60-88, Tru-Cut and Railing saw, Laminator or any other piece of equipment in the laminated mattress department. A constant flow of material must be maintained as well as efficient use of materials.
LMATT Responsibilities (50% of time):
- Operate all laminated mattress equipment
- Document all necessary lot numbers on route slips
- Post daily schedule
- Assist in the assembly of the laminated mattresses
- Understand how to read and interpret a tape measure
- Read and understand tasking labels and block tags
- Maintain a clean and organized work area
- Navigate through and understand production schedules
- Communicate with material handler for needed blocks
- Have knowledge of all foam types and bed builds
Consumer Responsibilities (50% of time):
- Read and interpret product route slips to ensure product is cut to proper size.
- Measure foam blocks and pieces to within 1/16".
- Operate railing saw and manual bun prep saw.
- Operate vertical contour cutting equipment.
- Operate horizontal contour cutting equipment.
- Operate horizontal slitting equipment.
- Operate convolution equipment.
- Operate material transfer equipment.
- Operate packaging and sealing equipment.
- Operate hole-punching equipment.
- Operate lamination equipment.
- Operate overhead hoists.
- Stack and move pads to Production Operators.
- Operate foam balers.
Requirements:
- Major duties and responsibilities of the job can be satisfactorily performed with a high school education or GED
- Three to six months experience required to perform the job.
- This position requires basic math skills, ability to read a tape measure and read a production task sheet.
- Previous manufacturing experience with precision cutting machines preferred.
- A minimum of 90 days on the job training to correctly perform these tasks.
