International Senior Supplier Quality Analyst in Lisle, Illinois

Position Overview

International is currently seeking a Senior Supplier Quality Analyst. This position will manage suppliers in the chassis and metal components group consisting of stamped, fabricated and roll form components as well as suspension and wheel suppliers. Focus will be ensuring proactive involvement in supplier selection for evaluation of Quality Management Systems as well as individual part qualification through formal PPAP.

Work is primarily accomplished through interacting with Tier 1 suppliers to International in areas of Production Part Approval Process (PPAP), corrective and preventative action, quality system assessments and change control.

Responsibilities

  • Utilizes quality tools to manage suppliers within their deck

  • Performs production process approval utilizing AIAG MSA and PPAP to verify compliance to engineering releases and engineering standards for components and assemblies used at International plants

  • Utilizes the 8D process for corrective and preventative activities. Monitors suppliers’ performance and escalates when supplier performance falls below expected levels

  • Assesses supplier quality risk levels using the FMEA, Pass Through and Weak Detection format and control plans utilizing a proactive approach to quality assurance with suppliers

  • Assesses the Quality Management System at supplier location to the NQSR, and CVS 10 requirements utilizing Dynamic Control Plan Audit format, VDA 6.3 and CQI special process manuals

  • Lead for supplier quality on CMT updating the teams on supplier quality status as well as coordinating evaluations on new product award assessment for suppliers

  • Frequently interacts with supervisors, suppliers, and/or functional peer group managers, normally involving matters between functional areas, other company divisions or units, or suppliers and the company

  • Often must participate/lead a cooperative effort among members of a project team

  • Addresses issues with impact beyond own team/group based on knowledge of related disciplines

  • Actively works to achieve department and corporate goals

  • Works on issues of diverse scope where analysis of situation or data requires evaluation of a variety of factors, including an understanding of current business trends and make decisions on when issues need to be escalated

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • At least 8 years of quality experience

  • At least 1 year of lead experience

OR

  • Master’s degree

  • At least 6 years of quality experience

  • At least 1 year of lead experience

OR

  • At least 10 years of quality experience

  • At least 1 year of lead experience

Additional Requirements

  • Qualified candidates, excluding current International Motors employees, must be legally authorized on an unrestricted basis (US Citizen, Legal Permanent Resident, Refugee or Asylee) to be employed in the United States. Desired Skills

  • Quality Standards including VDA 6.3 knowledge, use of quality tools and problem solving

  • Experience in metal forming

  • Must have a good understanding of the application of GD&T and tolerancing strategies

  • Experience with CMM and scanning measurement systems a plus

  • Self-driven: Receives minimal guidance, little instruction on day-to-day work, and general instructions on new assignments

  • Critical thinking: Continuously thinks about proposed solutions and if those meet requirements

  • Sense of urgency

  • Ability to work in a team environment: Gets work done through organization and planning

  • Ability and experience to work with team members working on remote locations trough out Traton

  • Competent in software tools such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint

  • Mechanical Engineering Degree preferred but not required
