The Hazard Communication team fosters best practice sharing across the whole community worldwide and assists GBUs in placing on the market Syensqo products, by delivering reliable and compliant Hazard Documentation, to protect workers, customers, environment and Syensqo Intellectual Property. Through continuous improvement, they increase the efficiency of the processes and deliver the Hazard Communication outputs in a cost effective manner.

The mission of the Raw Materials & Purchased Chemicals (RM&PC) team is to provide expertise, support and services to the GBUs to ensure regulatory compliance and an harmonized Syensqo raw material management. This is done thanks to a “one stop shop” inside 3E protect and SAP EHS for Raw material composition and regulatory information.

We are looking for:

The Raw Materials & Purchased Chemicals (RM&PC) specialist will be responsible for the A to Z management of all RM&PC regulatory core activity.

We can count on you for:

  • Manage RM&PC data and documents in SAP EHS (the central database)

  • Ensure that Safety Data Sheets (SDSs) are available and up to date in the consultation system used by sites

  • Ensure the REACH/UK REACH conformity assessment of the Raw Materials for production

  • Ensure conformity assessment of production Raw Materials according some WW specific regulations

  • For production Raw Materials, identify the products containing Substances of Very High Concern (SVHC)

  • Closely communicate with the Product Stewards, to allow the implementation of the necessary actions, such Raw Material replacement and ensurance of the Business Continuity.

  • Organise and launch regulatory campaigns as well as contact suppliers to ensure that Raw Materials are in compliance with some regulations

  • Provide training (buyers, product stewards and site HSE responsibles) and participates in SYENSQO meetings to respond to regulatory requests and demands

  • Creation and improvement of team procedures

  • Lead or take part in the continuous improvement of projects

  • SLA for Raw Material management

  • Data quality improvement

  • GBU compliance support

You will bring:

Education and Essential Skills/Experience

  • Bachelor or Master’s Degree in Chemistry, Chemical Engineering or Life Sciences

  • Experience with Google applications (e.g. Sheets) and Microsoft tools (e.g. Excel)

  • Up to 3 years of experience in a similar position

  • Fluent English

Desirable Skills/Experience

  • ERP (SAP EHS) knowledge

  • Knowledge and/or expertise with the Chemicals Regulatory regulations, namely the EU CLP and REACH and the UN Global Harmonized Classification System.

  • Able to easily understand industry processes and regulation constraints.

  • Commitment, autonomy and responsibility: Self-management capacity regarding objectives to be achieved, self-initiative and creativity.

  • Critical Thinking: Able to researching and gathering information while working in a worldwide and cross-functional team environment. Analyzing and interpreting all data objectively. An understanding of complex situations, attention to detail are also required.

  • Collaboration and open-mindedness: Ability to develop constructive exchanges, synergies with others (collaborators, hierarchy) in order to promote the effectiveness of the whole team (listening and communication capacity, respect of diversity of ideas within a team, openness to change).

  • Customer and service Orientation: Desire to design and deliver excellent customer services to build long-lasting relationship. Support customer to understand more about what you are providing and how to get the most out of it.

  • Desire to gain knowledge (curiosity).

Additional information:

  • The selected candidate will work in close collaboration with SYENSQO GBUs and SDS experts to ensure and improve the management of Supplier’s SDSs.
