Actalent Controls Engineer in Linwood, North Carolina

Description:

  • To coordinate all aspects of the PLC Siemens control system, to operate efficiently and effectively to predetermined and agreed standards, and within budgetary constraints and quality standards.

  • To undertake a comprehensive training program, to be able to understand every aspect of the Electrical engineering requirements within PLC Siemens. To operate the company support systems and ensure they are properly used and maintained. To attend any further training/development courses as required.

  • To ensure the plant and equipment is fully operational and meet production requirements 365 days per year. To provide support to the manufacturing areas whilst meeting budgetary requirements and within agreed timescales.

  • To assist with planning, installation and commissioning equipment as required. To monitor equipment performance.

  • To ensure a suitable availability of required essential spare parts, through liaison with the engineering manager and stores manager.

  • To assist when requested, with capital project planning and installation.

  • To coordinate all control system engineering aspects of Siemens (involving PLC Siemens (Simatic S7-1500), HMI Siemens WinCC, VFD (variable frequency drives: Sinamics, SEW, Lenze) while ensuring compliance with standards and current legislation, are maintained

  • Organize the planning, maintenance, and modifications of control systems.

  • To provide recommendations to improve plant efficiency, along with cost-effectiveness.
