Robert Half Small Business Controller in Linville, North Carolina

Description Our client is looking for a dynamic Full Charge Bookkeeper to join their staff. The Full Charge Bookkeeper will handle bank reconciliations, journal entries, month-end close, cash flow, financial statement preparation, audit, full cycle A/P, and payroll. The Full Charge Bookkeeper can also be responsible for the clerical staff. If you thrive with minimal supervision under tight deadlines, you might be the accounting professional we're searching for this Bookkeeper role. This permanent employment opportunity is based in the Linville, North Carolina area.

What you get to do every single day

  • File cash flow projections, as needed

  • Knowledgeable in credit card management and reconciliation

  • Draw up subcontractor 1099's, and any other IRS year-end requirement

  • More tasks as requested

  • Assemble monthly reconciliations, financial statements and all supporting documents

  • Log budget transfers

  • Form cash account journal entries including loans, taxes, bank fees, 401(k) deductions, etc.

  • Sort sales tax records and create and file quarterly payments

  • Outline business license and gross receipts

  • Administrate Accounts Receivable

  • Conduct monthly accounting close

  • Look after Accounts Payable Requirements - Excellent oral and written communication skills

  • Proven analytical skills with ability to implement solutions and vendor management experience with good organizational skills

  • Highly organized, attentive, has a sense of urgency, flexible and able to deal with frequent interruptions and changing priorities

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, high pressure environment, to prioritize deals and adapt to quick changes while remaining diligent

  • Job Cost experience

  • Adeptness in Microsoft Excel

  • Bank reconciliations experience required

  • Payroll experience preferred

  • HP Proliant experience desired

  • Strong familiarity with Monthly Financial Statements

  • Demonstrated knowledge of Human Resources (HR) Administration

  • BA/BS in Accounting, Finance, Economics or other business-related field preferred

    • 5+ years of related experience- Strong organizational skills and a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Self-starter and strong ethical standards

  • Strong attention to detail

    • Notable accounting experience, including as a Bookkeeper preferred
