To provide a wide range of strategic & tactical HR consultation and support that is aligned with the strategy of the company. Specifically, this role in a matrixed relationship, is to act as a business partner to all levels of division management in the planning, development and delivery of associate programs and activities that support the business strategy, to provide ongoing support, advice and guidance to division management with regards to all aspects of People Services policies and practices, to consult with HR specialists in the development of new policies, practices and programs, and to be the central point of contact for employee relations matters for assigned business segments.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  1. To be the HR business consultant for assigned business segments, proactively consulting and partnering with other HR specialists as required (e.g., recruitment, training) to deliver programs, policies and activities that directly contribute to the effectiveness of the business.

  2. Ensure that associate change management plans are in place for business change initiatives.

  3. Provide professional advice and guidance to associates and managers for associate relations issues.

  4. Manage high risk associate relations matters including: harassment investigations, escalations, law suits, EEOC claims.

  5. Proactively consult with management on raising associate engagement and assisting with action items as required.

  6. Review and recommend any necessary changes to People Services policies and procedures and complete additional research as required.

  7. Model good managerial practices and ensure associate information is kept confidential at all times.

  8. Provide support for terminations and all related documentation and administration.

  9. Participate in People Services projects as required.

EDUCATION:

  1. Preferred Post-Secondary Education in Human Resource Management

  2. Certified Human Resources Professional designation preferred

EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of 5 years of experience as an HR Generalist

  1. Extensive knowledge of employment principles, practices and legislation.

  2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills (written & verbal).

  3. Demonstrated experience in dealing with multiple divisional groups and competing priorities.

  4. Strong consultative, influencing and facilitation skills.

  5. Ability to exercise sound judgment and make effective decisions.

  6. Experience in planning & leading change management activities.

  7. Proven ability to support and contribute to the design of Human Resources programs and methodologies.

  8. Ability to work independently and also within a team environment.

  9. Ability to multi-task in a deadline driven environment required.

Salary range for this role is $90,000- $120,000 depending on experience
