Main responsibilities will include:

  • The position is responsible for the technical design, development, and associated testing of complex mechanical engineering projects within Pharmacy Automation’s Robotic Product Portfolio

  • Take ownership for component and assembly design from concept through detailed design to manufacturing

  • Perform CAD modeling of electromechanical assemblies to support the release of new designs and creates improvements to existing designs

  • Understand product needs, operational constraints, and help define product requirements to deliver the best possible product for customers

  • Work closely with Systems, Electrical, Controls and other Mechanical Engineers on designs and implementations to ensure a strong overall system design and performance

  • Create and present design summaries for technical reviews with a cross functional representation from across the project team

  • Provide technical leadership on multiple projects simultaneously

  • Applies sound engineering principles and techniques to develop solutions using a variety of engineering tools

  • Assess the feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering tasks, build a resource plan for completion of these tasks, and track progress

  • Derive Verification and Validation plans for new designs

  • Lead and mentor junior engineers and associates on technical and programmatic related challenges

  • Be innovative - identify product improvement opportunities that continuously improve and differentiate Pharmacy Automation Solutions

  • Spearhead failure investigations with a cross-functional team for returned hardware, in field failures and CAPA

About You

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent degree and experience

  • At least 8 years related experience, or the equivalent combination of graduate-level education and experience required

  • Experience in industrial automation and/or robotic system design

  • Technical leadership experience in a highly focused cross-functional team environment on a large development project is preferred

  • Experience with mechanical CAD tools, SolidWorks, FEA, material selection, sheet metal design and fabrication, plastic injection molded part design tooling and qualification; tolerance analysis, GD&T and rapid prototyping equipment

  • DFSS and Labview experience would be plus

  • Experience in medical device industry would be plus

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Office products, Vizio, Adobe, MiniTab, Solidworks

  • Demonstrate ability to successfully influence people and teams at all levels without direct authority

  • Ability to apply sophisticated mathematical concepts to such tasks as statics, kinetics, strength of materials reliability testing, analysis of variance, correlation studies and sampling theory, statistical analysis

  • Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw conclusions

  • Ability to troubleshoot issues and determine the root cause

  • Ability to generate presentations and technical articles for limited publication

  • Ability to present technical information and to effectively present proposals
