WestRock Company Gluing Machine Operator in Limerick, Ireland
The opportunity:
We are seeking an experienced Gluing Machine Operator to perform all duties of a Machine Operator, including make ready and effective running of the gluing machines to their optimum potential. The role involves ensuring stringent adherence to quality standards, delivering a quality product to customers on time, and working safely in compliance with established safe systems. Additionally, the candidate will lead a small work crew.
How you will impact Smurfit-Westrock :
Safety and Reporting: Work safely, encourage health and safety procedures, and report accidents, dangerous occurrences, and non-conformances.
Maintenance and Housekeeping: Maintain machinery and equipment, keep work areas clean, and ensure high housekeeping standards.
Collaboration and Fault Management: Collaborate with engineering to log faults, participate in fault-finding, and correct machine malfunctions.
Machine Operation: Prepare and run machines to meet quality standards, follow working systems, and achieve production targets and KPI\u2019s.
Process Improvement: Continuously enhance operational processes to reduce errors, increase efficiency, and maintain high-quality standards.
Efficiency and Improvement: Maximize machine efficiency, participate in continuous improvement initiatives, and provide cover for process operatives.
Documentation: Log and record duties in SFDC.
What you need to succeed:
Adapt to work shifts and changes.
Experience with Alpina, media, or Jagenberg machines would be advantageous
Apply a methodical work approach and problem-solving abilities.
Demonstrate mechanical aptitude.
Work independently.
Exhibit strong teamwork and communication skills.
Utilize proven people skills to oversee and direct a small team.
