Marimor Industries, Inc. Vocational Specialist - Full Time in Lima, Ohio
Salary Range: $16.00 - $20.00 per hour
Position Description:
Responsible for providing on-the-job training for individuals who have secured community employment, advocating for individuals in maintaining community employment and/or obtaining community employment for adults with disabilities.
Duties:
- Using applied marketing principles develop community employment positions to meet individual needs, including developing and distributing promotional materials with regards to Marimor Industries, and assisting community employers in obtaining monetary incentives while promoting the state's Employment First Initiative.
- Provide on-the-job training to teach the necessary skills/tasks to ensure individuals become independent in their community job.
- Provide follow-along services for individuals served placed in community jobs, promoting the State's Employment First Initiative.
- Assure that systematic training on specific job skills is provided for individuals served entering community employment.
- Keeps County Board SSAs and Opportunities for Ohioans with Disabilities Counselors informed of individual's progress.
- Provides and prepares reports, assessments and evaluations of individuals served to meet state standards for all services provided.
- Assists in developing programming to increase employment opportunities.
- Participate in Person Centered Planning team process and be responsible for the implementation of methods to achieve goals, promoting the state's Employment First Initiative.
- Participate in in-service training sessions as required.
Other duties as assigned by Employment Services Manager.
Qualifications:
- Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent; 18 years of age or older.
- Preferred experience providing supported employment or related field.
- Valid driver's license, ability to be covered by Marimor insurance and provide a certified driver's abstract, in order to transport individuals served in agency vehicles.
- Maintains appropriate certification/registration (including, but not limited to, CPR and First Aid).
- Satisfactory criminal background check. Pass company required pre-employment drug test and physical.
- Must be physically able to lift 50 lbs., support and move enrollees in a safe manner, according to in-service training. Must be physically able to support, train and teach individuals with developmental disabilities according to their employment service requirements.
- Subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
Ability to work flexible hours to include evenings, nights and weekends depending on the need of community employers. Certified* Employment Support Professional (CESP*) certification preferred.
