You will join our engineering team consisting of 15 automation and process engineers. The team members interact and collaborate with specialists in other departments to provide manufacturing support and drive improvement through project initiatives. The engineering team is a part of the larger technical operations function comprising of 40 members supporting both sites in Oslo and Lillestrøm. This position is based in Lillestrøm.

What are you going to do?

  • System Design and Development: Design and develop automation solutions using 800xA Batch Management DCS.

  • Manufacturing Support: Provide technical support, diagnose and resolve issues and implement preventive and corrective actions.

  • Validation and Testing: Develop and implement validation protocols (IQ/OQ/PQ) and perform system testing (Commissioning/FAT/SAT).

  • Continuous Improvement: Identify and implement process optimization and automation improvements and stay updated with the latest advancements in automation technology and industry trends

  • Safety and Risk Management: Ensure compliance with safety standards, conduct risk assessments, and implement mitigation strategies.

  • Collaboration and Communication: Collaborate with stakeholders to align automation solutions with business objectives. Communicate with vendors and contractors for procurement and installation.

  • Training and Mentorship: Train and support operators and technical staff, and mentor less experienced team members

  • System Integration: Integrate DCS with PLCs, MES, and ERP systems ensuring seamless communication and data exchange.

  • Project Management: Lead and manage automation projects. Coordinate multi-functional teams including process engineers and quality assurance. Develop project plans, schedules, and budgets to ensure timely delivery of project.

  • Documentation and Compliance: Maintain documentation and system validated state according to Good Automated Manufacturing Practice (GAMP5). Develop and update standard operating procedures and work instructions.

What do you need to succeed?

  • B.Sc/M.Sc in Automation or Electrical Engineering

  • Demonstrated ability working with ABB 800xA or equivalent (process automation system)

  • Installation / commissioning experience

  • Experience with ISO-13485 & with GxP systems will be considered an advantage

  • Experience working in environment were a quality system for medical devices industry is followed will be an advantage

  • Proficient in both spoken and written English and a Scandinavian language (Swedish / Danish / Norwegian) is required
