Job Title: Mold Tech

Job Description

As a Mold Tech, you will work from blueprints to build, repair, and maintain fixtures used for holding tempered glass. The position requires the use of manual mills, lathes, CNC machines, HAAS CNC, and welders. Attention to detail is critical due to tight tolerances. You will also perform mig/tig welding and fabrication, troubleshoot technical issues, and partner with the Maintenance crew to ensure production equipment is operational. When not working on fixture PM programs, you may be called to machine parts from scratch to resolve issues.

Responsibilities

• Build, repair, and maintain fixtures based on blueprints.

• Use manual mills, lathes, CNC machines, and welders.

• Perform mig/tig welding and fabrication.

• Troubleshoot and apply technical thought to ensure dies work properly.

• Partner with Maintenance crew to get production equipment running.

• Machine parts from scratch as needed.

• Use quality control tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges to check tolerances.

Essential Skills

• Experience setting up and operating manual mills/lathes or CNC lathes/mills.

• Ability to read blueprints.

• Skills in welding, fabricating, and machining parts from scratch.

• Willingness to perform both machining and welding tasks.

• Experience with manual mill/lathe, CNC, welding, and AutoCAD/Inventor.

• Proficiency in using quality control tools to check tight tolerances.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Open to candidates right out of high school with industrial classes in welding and machining.

• Open to candidates with millwright experience.

Work Environment

This position is for the 3rd shift (10 pm to 6:30 am) . C andidates can expect to work a flat 40-hour week with optional overtime. Every 5th weekend of the month, you will work Saturday and Sunday but can take two days off in the preceding week. The team consists of 11 Mold Techs across three shifts and partners with Maintenance to ensure smooth operations. The facility is clean with minimal dirt, though some areas can reach up to 110 degrees due to the ovens used in tempering and forming glass.
