Role Location - Liege, Belgium

Travel Requirements:

US, San Diego: 1-2 times per year (for meetings and training purpose)

Europe (primarily France, Switzerland, Germany and UK) four days per month (to perform preventive maintenance on Diagenode products)

We are looking for a skilled Instrumentation Engineer to join our team in Liege, Belgium. The Instrumentation Engineer will predominantly be responsible for monitoring and maintaining of the internal Panther Fusion platforms located at Diagenode, Liège to make sure that the instrument and its processes operate effectively, efficiently and safely.

Diagenode (a Hologic company) is an international biotech company that develops and commercializes innovative instruments and reagents systems for the life science research and molecular diagnostics.

We're looking for people who have engineering background ideally from within a medical device industry who love troubleshooting and problem solving, are driven to learn and have passion for quality.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Conduct troubleshooting to repair, test and qualify instruments

  • Resolve technical problems requiring multiple areas of expertise

  • Perform statistical analysis and data trending using data sets, software, and hardware logs. Create technical reports summarizing your findings and showing results.

  • Participate in inter-department investigations into new types of reported instrument issues, or requested changes.

  • Work close with Engineering team in San Diego (US) and R&D teams to resolve issues and make recommendations for product and process improvement.

  • Schedule and conduct preventive maintenance and corrective services for multiple instrument platforms both on-site and remotely.

  • Execute verification and validation protocols and write reports.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical, electronic and mechanical systems

  • Bioengineering educational background and/or experience preferred

  • Proficient use of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills

  • Great attention to detail, organizational and planning skills

  • Good level of English. Knowledge of French and Dutch would be advantageous

  • Capability to take direction and to drive projects
