Job TitleAssociate Designer Job Description The Associate Designer is an experienced multidisciplinary designer who has a strong interest in graphic design including photography, illustrations, typography, icons, and animations. This person is able to consistently meet deadlines with inspiring ideas and a great attitude. This position reports to and will work closely with the creative director to evolve the look of the magazine and design front-of-book stories and packages. You will work closely with the photo department and editors to see stories through from concept to execution. The ideal candidate is able to participate in brainstorming meetings and feels comfortable working in a group setting. Responsibilities: Meets with edit/photo departments to get briefs on FOB sections/packages/features stories assigned to them. Works closely with the Creative Director to refine designs, incorporate feedback, and route work to internal departments. Illustrates icons and maps when needed and designs typefaces for features and packages. Attaches and styles text, and routes final approved files. Adheres to current processes. Maintains issue wall, art assignments list and updating layout page templates. Actual pay may vary and may be above or below the range based on various factors including but not limited to work location, experience, and performance. The range listed is just one component of Dotdash Meredith's total compensation package for employees.
