About the Role

This position is to plan, organize and lead production to ensure that parts are produced safely, efficiently, on time, within budget and to standard. Responsible for providing training, facilitating process improvements as needed to ensure World Class Manufacturing and ensure production KPI’s are met.

Your Responsibilities

  1. Oversee the production process making sure that products are produced on time and are of good quality.

  2. Displays ability to make decisions; Exhibits sound and accurate judgment; Supports and explains reasoning for decisions; Includes appropriate people in decision-making process; Makes timely, data driven decisions.

  3. Undertakes self-development activities; Seeks increased responsibilities; Takes independent actions and calculated risks; Looks for and takes advantage of opportunities; Asks for and offers help when needed.

  4. Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

  7. Maintain a safe and healthful working environment where zero lost time injuries are the standard of work by all LMV employees.

  8. Follow and enforce all plant safety rules and procedures, promoting and practicing safety first policy, including housekeeping

  9. Maintain a motivated and proud teamwork environment with ownership in workmanship. Encourage two-way, open and friendly attitudes at all times. Be approachable and listen to employees.

  10. Work out and implement standard Work Instructions for production operations and ensure that they are adhered to as well as audited to the appropriate schedule.

  11. Monitor the production processes and adjusting schedules as needed.

  12. Ensure efficient collaboration and coordination between relevant departments including Quality, Engineering, Maintenance, Logistics and Management.

  13. Promote, encourage, and educate ownership mindset to all production and support functions.

  14. Participate and develop in active succession planning.

  15. Respond to Customer Complaints/Requests/Concerns within a timely manner.

  16. Determine and implement improvements to the production process.

  17. Be on call 24 hours per day for emergencies.

  18. Responsible for adhering to OSHA and EPA regulations.

  19. Actively participate in the cross-management team in achieving world class performance in safety, quality, efficiency, and continuous improvement activities.

  20. Resolves personnel problems by analyzing data; investigating issues; identifying solutions; recommending action.

  21. Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  1. Manage and supervise production employees in a production environment.

  2. Manages one complete shift consisting of Area Leaders, Team Leaders, and direct production employees.

  3. Responsibilities include planning, assigning, and directing work; addressing complaints and resolving problems; interviewing, hiring, and training employees; appraising performance, rewarding and disciplining employees.

Education and/or Experience:

• Grade 12 education or equivalent.

• Degree in business administration, management, engineering, industrial technology or related field or combination of education and experience.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

• Ability to problem solve.

• Intermediate computer skills required.

• Ability to communicate with others, both verbal and written.

• Able to prepare, read, write and interpret reports, instructions, procedures and business correspondence.

• Able to clearly and effectively respond to questions from management, employees, suppliers and customers.

• Able to manage and schedule multiple priorities and meet deadlines.

• Able to work flexible hours to be available to three shifts.
