Our purpose is to be the solution when every minute matters and we are seeking an internal candidate for an Electrical Team Lead position. The Electrical Team Lead will lead a team of 4-8 employees. We seek a candidate who can lead and coach a diverse team of production employees while working safely, meeting efficiency expectations, and delivering a quality product as planned.
Essential Functions/Responsibilities:
· Lead Team to ensure that safety, efficiency, and delivery goals are met.
· Review production schedules daily and identify and present staffing and materials issues to Production Supervisor.
· Lead daily startups, communicate goals and objectives to the Team, and monitor progress throughout the shift.
· Record production progress as required each shift. Identify issues and resolve, present to Production Supervisor when appropriate.
· Monitor performance of Team, remove bottlenecks, and take corrective action as needed. Identify challenges and develop solutions, working with Production Supervisor as needed.
· Work cooperatively with other Team Leads and departments to find solutions and achieve goals.
· Assess and coach Team Members to achieve performance and behavioral goals. Work with Production Supervisor on disciplinary and other issues as needed.
· Maintain confidentiality regarding any personal information.
· Read, understand, and apply engineering CAD drawings.
· Operate daily according to Leader Standard Work (LSW).
· Ensure proper use of LSW and appropriate countermeasures are taken when problems surface.
· Maintain and use Visual Controls and Daily Management Boards (DMB).
· Monitor progress throughout each shift (per LSW) comparing the target to the actual.
· Tie teams to the department and support groups through Tier 2 meetings with the Program Manager.
· Lead continuous improvement through the collection and analysis of the data for the project team assigned.
· Ensure each project is built in adherence to all Nomad QC requirements and documentation is complete (per LSW).
· Reduce waste and support key company objectives at the team level.
· Assist Production Supervisor in developing, implementing, and maintaining production standards, SOPs, quality, and safety.
· Ensure Electrical Team members are cross-trained and specific training requirements are being achieved.
· Responsible for leading and directing the Team in the manufacture of projects while meeting key metric requirements: DLH, IDL, Time and Attendance, Production Rework, OT, efficiency, and safety targets.
· Responsible for 5S, shop floor cleanliness, and clear connection to IC for kitting and parts queue.
· Daily reporting: To team at Tier 1 and to Program Manager at Tier 2.
· Demonstrate an understanding of all the portions of the production process.
· Perform all duties of an Electrical Technician.
· Assemble, install, test, or maintain 120/240V AC and 12/24V DC electrical systems or electronic wiring, equipment, appliances, apparatus, or fixtures, using hand tools or power tools.
· Test electrical systems or continuity of AC and DC circuits in electrical wiring, equipment, or fixtures, using testing devices, such as ohmmeters, voltmeters, or oscilloscopes, to ensure compatibility and safety of the system.
· Inspect electrical systems, equipment, or components to identify hazards, defects, or the need for adjustment or repair, and to ensure compliance with codes.
· Diagnose malfunctioning AC and 12V systems, apparatus, or components, using, visual inspection and test equipment and hand tools to locate the cause of a breakdown and correct the problem.
· Inspect and test AC and 12V electrical systems and equipment to locate and diagnose malfunctions, using visual inspections, testing devices, and computer software.
· Diagnose and/or repair problems with electrical equipment, such as lights, relays, battery isolators, generators and leveling systems.
· Run wires and cables for AC and DC systems and controls.
· Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices, power tools, and testing equipment, such as oscilloscopes, ammeters, or test lamps.
· Demonstrate Nomad Core Values, apply them, and require them of Team Members.
· Additional duties as assigned.
Basic Knowledge Desired:
· Demonstrate ability to lead and work collaboratively with others.
· Demonstrate understanding of Nomad production processes.
o Mechanical — machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair, and maintenance.
o Design — design techniques, tools, and principals involved in the production of precision technical plans, blueprints, drawings, and models.
o Customer and Personal Service — principles and processes for providing customer and personal services. This includes customer needs assessment, meeting quality standards for services, and evaluation of customer satisfaction.
o Troubleshooting — determining causes of operating errors in electrical systems and deciding what to do about it.
o Systems Evaluation — identifying measures or indicators of system performance and quality and the actions needed to improve or correct performance, relative to the goals of the system.
· Be innovative, a self-starter, dependable, and able to respond quickly and accurately on multiple priorities.
· Have strong PC skills and knowledge of E2, Excel, Word, etc.
· Demonstrate good communication, organizational, and time management skills.
Physical Demands:
· While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to use hands and arms to finger, handle, feel, reach, or operate objects, tools, or controls.
· The employee is frequently required to stand, walk, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, crawl, talk, hear, and is occasionally required to sit.
· At times, the employee will be required to work at heights up to 20 feet.
· The employee must frequently lift and/or carry up to 25 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds. Anything heavier than 50 pounds will require two people to lift / carry.
· Specific vision abilities required by this job including close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to distinguish individual colors.
Working Environment:
· The work environment is a partially environmentally controlled indoor environment. Depending upon the time of year, temperatures can fluctuate between 60F and 100F but is typically around 70F. There are times when working outside will be required.
· The employee must have the ability to work from heights at the ground floor up to 20 feet from the ground on ladders or platforms of varying sizes.
· The employee may be subjected to noise levels, ranging from low volume to loud and will be required to wear provided safety hearing devices from time to time.
· The employee will be exposed to a variety of household/commercial chemicals that will require the employee to follow company rules/regulations outlined by MSDS.
· All Team Members must wear OSHA-approved safety glasses and closed-toed shoes at all times on the production floor.
Qualifications & Experience:
• High school diploma or GED.
• 1+ years of experience at Nomad GCS required.
• 5+ years of experience in 12V and 120V electrical experience OR 3-5 years of experience in 12V and 120V electrical experience outside of Nomad GCS and secondary education certification specific to electrical.
• 5+ years of experience diagnosing and troubleshooting electrical circuitry.
• 5+ years of experience reading and following CAD.
• Ability to train and mentor team members.
