Position Title: Mechanical Engineer Intern

Heidelberg Materials is seeking a Mechanical Engineer Intern to join our team in Lexington, SC, for the summer of 2025. As a Mechanical Engineering Intern, you will immerse yourself in plant processes. This position will have the opportunity to tackle new challenges and projects and gain real-world working experience. You will have lots to talk about when you return to school in the fall!

What You'll Be Doing

• Put your education into action in the field to support and participate in assigned project work.

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including production, maintenance, and safety departments, to ensure projects meet organizational goals.

• Support preventative maintenance programs by analyzing trends and suggesting improvements.

• Complete summer projects to gain an understanding of the operations fly ash beneficiation facilities, as well as drive efficiency.

• Learn the mission of the mechanical engineering and maintenance departments and different jobs and functions.

• Ensures compliance with all health, safety, and environmental regulations, as well as company policies and procedures.

What Are We Looking For

• Current juniors and seniors working toward a degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field

• Proficiency with Siemens DCS control system programming and troubleshooting is a plus

• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal

• Effectively working with engineers, technicians, and other professionals

• Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills

What We Offer

• $23-$27 Per Hour
