Simmons Farm Raised Catfish Farmworkers and Laborers in Lexington, Mississippi

This is a temporary job for 27 Farmworkers and Laborers located in Yazoo City, MS. The work week is 40 hours, 8 hours Monday through Friday. Pay is $14.53 per hour. Work begins 9/1/2024 thru 11/29/2024. Work hours are from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. 

Work within this job description does not include freezing fish or work in and around employer's freezer functions. All work within this job description will be performed on fresh fish that are used for in further processing and freezing or that are shipped as "fresh, never frozen" fish. In all duties, employees must strictly adhere to all applicable food safety and sanitation requirements, including requirements of USDA Food Safety Inspection Service, Global Aquaculture Alliance's Best Aquaculture Practices, USDA Process Verified Program for US Farm Raised Catfish Sustainability, and requirements of the customers and employers. Fish Trimmers: Workers will inspect fish for blemishes or defects and either hand fillets fish, trims already filleted fish, or conforms raw fillets into other raw products. Workers must remove all bones, trim all excess fat, skin, tissues, and ragged edges from fish using handheld knives. Separate fish and byproducts into specified containers and separate fish according to size specifications of mis-cuts, nuggets, fillets, or specific specialty cuts. This job only works with fresh fish that are then further used for fresh ice packed fish, frozen fish, or for further processing in other areas of the processing plant.
