BAE Systems Model Based Engineering Capability Group (MBE CG) is seeking an experienced Model Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) professional versed in the philosophy and practice of MBSE. The MBE CG is responsible for promulgating Agile-MBSE practices, MBSE training, technically assisting all ES Sector programs in their MBSE model development and the proper application of MBSE processes and techniques to programs. BAE Systems is transitioning towards a Digital Enterprise (DE) where virtual and Cloud based networks and services are replacing traditional desktop applications and the MBE CG is playing a key role.
As a MBSE subject matter expert (SME), this individual must have strong knowledge MBSE processes, practices, tools and related modeling languages and frameworks (e.g. SysML, UML, UAF, etc.) and understand how to build and apply models to solve complex technical problems. The candidate must also have the technical MBSE skills necessary to be capable of singularly and successfully leading a program in their total MBSE development activities. It is expected that this individual will work daily with the Systems Engineering teams, project design and development teams and the project management team to achieve program objectives. Internal to the MBE CG group itself, this individual is expected to be a significant contributor to the development of MBSE training materials, initiatives, and company MBSE best process and practices.
Required Education, Experience, & Skills
Bachelors Degree or higher in Systems Engineering or related field
5 Years building models and developing modeling strategies using MBSE methodologies, best practices and tools
10 years Systems Engineering practitioner with BS degree or equivalent
Demonstrated team leadership experience
Comprehensive understanding of UML and/or SysML and architectural frameworks (e.g. UAF, DoDAF)
Extensive knowledge of and experience with MagicDraw and associated Cameo plug-ins
Created validation rules and specialized searches in the model database
Demonstrated ability to analyze problems through MBSE model
Preferred Education, Experience, & Skills
Working knowledge of Cloud technologies and platform services, e.g. AWS, Azure, etc.
Experience in Agile software development methodologies, scrum and task management tools (e.g. Jira)
Familiar with Government Reference Architectures (GRAs) and Autonomy solutions
Experienced working in all phases of the engineering product development lifecycle
Classroom and on-the-job training experience
Training material development
Pay Information
Full-Time Salary Range: $140690 - $239140
Please note: This range is based on our market pay structures. However, individual salaries are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, and internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications, such as skills, education, and experience.
