A thoroughbred horse farm located in Lexington, Kentucky is seeking a Broodmare Manager to join their team. The Broodmare Manager is responsible for the successful delivery and care of breeding management regimes for resident broodmares, foals and weanlings. The Broodmare Manager oversees related health care, reproductive activities, foaling and post foaling management as well as staff management responsibilities. This position is a full-time permanent opportunity offering a competitive salary and benefits package.

salary: $55,000 - $75,000 per year

shift: First

work hours: 8 AM - 5 PM

education: High School

Responsibilities

• General care of broodmares & broodmare herd

• Scheduling of routine vet checks and farrier visits

• Developing and maintaining feed, vitamin and supplement schedules

• Administration of medication

• Coordination & scheduling of live breeding schedules

• Handling stallions mares for live breeding

• Artificial insemination of mares

• Foaling process & postpartum care

• Communication with different parts of the facility
