JOB DOES NOT START UNTIL March 23, 2025.APPLICANT SHOULD RECEIVE A COPY OF THE JOB DESCRIPTION AND JOB REFERRAL BEFORE CALLING THE CONTACT. Workers should be physically able to meet and perform the work outlined in the contract for the entire period of time from 03/23/2025 to 11/30/2025. Wages are paid weekly. The employer guarantees to offer a least 3/4 of the hours listed and pay the adverse effect wage rate. Worker's compensation insurance will be provided. The employer must provide free housing and three meals a day or furnish free convenient cooking kitchen facilities to all workers who are not reasonably able to return to their residence the same day. Greenhouse; all activities in preparing greenhouse for seeding & plant maintenance, soil preparations, plant bed preparation, transplant activities associated with vegetables/fruits plant production. Insure temperature is controlled for optimal for plant growth. Care must be taking during transplanting as plants are tender and subject to break. Workers will insure temperature is controlled for optimal for plant growth and plants are watered as needed. Planting, Cultivating, & Harvesting Vegetables/Fruits: Duties to include, but not limited to: Workers may drive and operate farm machinery to plant, cultivate, harvest and store fruits and vegetables. Attach farm implements such as plow, disc, and drill to tractor and drive tractor in field to till soil and plant / cultivate crop. May plan and schedule plowing, cultivating and harvesting operations. Lay plastic, set plants, fertilize, manage irrigation, weeding with hoe by hand, driving stakes, cultivate, harvest, grading / sort & pack vegetables in boxes, and activities associated with fruit and vegetable production. Care needs to be taken during these activities to insure fruits and vegetables are not bruised during planting, cultivating, harvesting as well as grading/sorting and packing. Beginning in March as weather permits apply fertilizer to newly established strawberry fields and pruning as needed. Insure mulch covers plants to protect from frost, cover plants with netting as warmer weather nears, irrigate, harvest, and assist in set-up of product for sale of crop. Alternative Work; General farm maintenance and other duties as required in the farming operation maintenance. Includes variety of other duties such as lubricating and repairing farm machinery. But not limited to, preparing barns, draining fields, preparing land for planting, removing plastic from fields, cleaning fields after harvest. Cleaning greenhouse and, replace plastic on greenhouse as needed. Maintenance of tools & equipment, and other work as directly related to the crop activities for which the worker is hired. Also includes fixing, clearing, and painting of fences / barns. Such work will be offered when climate or crop conditions preclude working in the primary activities listed above. Worker may be required to work in fields when crops are wet with dew / rain and should have suitable clothing for conditions which include light rain and temperatures ranging from 30 degrees to more than 100 degrees. Workers should be able to stand, bend, stoop and work for prolonged periods of time and be physically fit to perform duties as assigned. Care must be exercised at all times to prevent bruising or breaking crops. Care must also be exercised in with any use of equipment.
