Kentucky Blood Center Facilities Maintenance Technician Monday- Friday in Lexington, Kentucky
$1,000 Sign-On Bonus (after 90-days and if on board by 3/31/25).
Experienced technician needed to ensure the ongoing operation and appearance of facilities and vehicle fleet. This position is responsible for completion of daily grounds and vehicle checks, perform minor and routine repairs, painting, and including but not limited to coordinate and/or perform tasks related to plumbing, mechanical, electrical, and heating/cooling. Works with contractors to fulfill service requests where applicable, and oversees the handling of recycling and waste containers. The role will drive buses to and from scheduled appointments (such as service or transporting to other locations), and administers a training course for new KBC drivers, as needed. The position will regularly travel to outlying centers to perform building or equipment maintenance and repairs, and will also troubleshoot and diagnose vehicle issues. Identifies and completes preventive maintenance and/or repairs for facility equipment and vehicles.
Working Environment & Physical Effort This position requires the ability to:Sit, stand, and walk for extended periods of time.
Occasionally fulfill basic clerical duties (typing/writing).
Frequently lift/carry up to 50 pounds without assistance.
Frequently bend, reach, or crawl to perform various job tasks.
Safely ascend/descend a ladder.
Analyze complex situations and make sound decisions.
Adapt to changing priorities and work under pressure.
Work outside in heat, cold, wet, humid, or dry conditions.
Occasionally travel to fulfill essential job functions
Minimum Requirements
High school diploma/equivalent, formal training, or certification in applicable areas is a plus.
Kentucky driver's license and safe driving record required (CDL required within 1 year of hire date, will provide CDL training if needed).
Must have the ability to lift 50 or more pounds consistently, and to stand for extended periods of time.
Ability to complete tasks such as painting, cleaning, minor repairs, and meet internal customer needs.
Ability to communicate and coordinate with vendors who perform task related to plumbing, electrical, auto maintenance, and heating/cooling.
Navigate necessary computer programs and applications.
Good verbal, written, and problem-solving skills.
Proof of education/certifications required during the interview process.
