Illinois Central School Bus Monitor-Aide in Lewisville, Texas
[Monitor-Aide (Lewisville, TX) **[Basic Purpose: [Primary responsibility is to assist the driver in the safe operation of the route.

- Knows the route and remains alert to monitor the welfare of passengers while enroute. Keeps order on the bus.
- Communicates behavior problems and conditions of various stops with the driver. Cooperates and communicates with school personnel, parents and students.
- Assists in pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the bus, including child checks, CSRS and wheel chairlifts
- Assists students in the loading and unloading process.
- Cooperates and communicates with school personnel, parents and students.
- Attend all safety andtraining meetings.
- Conducts emergency evacuation from the bus, including exiting from the emergency door. May also require physical removal of disabled child from bus.
- Assist driver in completion of required paperwork for District, State, ICSB, etc.
- Cleans the insides of the bus including sweeping, dusting and cleaning windows.
- Other specialized functions as required by contract.

- High school diploma or equivalent
- Good verbal communication skills
- The ability to work early morning hours

Pushing/Pullingemergency door, windows, pushing and pulling wheelchairs inside bus or to and from wheelchair lift , possibly using drag blanket in cases of emergencies up to 100 pounds
Lifting: Bus hood, trash box, challenged passenger into their seats, assistive devices, emergency equipment. Up to 40 lbs.
Walking: Crossing lot, up and down bus aisle, around exterior of bus
Sitting: Up to 2-3 hours while on bus
Climbing: Steps in and out of bus
