Automotive Service Advisor - Experienced

Job Overview:

We are seeking a knowledgeable and customer-oriented individual to join our team as an Automotive Service Advisor at our Lewisville Service Center. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing customer interactions, coordinating service appointments, and effectively communicating with our team of mechanics. This role requires a strong understanding of automotive systems, excellent communication skills, and the ability to provide exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities:

1. Customer Service:

  • Greet customers in a friendly and professional manner, providing a positive first impression.

  • Listen attentively to customers' concerns and requests, demonstrating empathy and understanding.

  • Provide detailed explanations of services, repairs, and maintenance required, ensuring customers have a clear understanding of the work to be performed.

  • Answer customer inquiries regarding pricing, service timelines, warranties, and other relevant information.

  • Address customer complaints or issues promptly and strive to achieve satisfactory resolutions.

2. Service Coordination:

  • Schedule and coordinate service appointments based on customer preferences, technician availability, and service requirements.

  • Maintain an organized and efficient appointment schedule to optimize technician productivity.

  • Communicate effectively with customers regarding appointment reminders, changes, and updates.

  • Coordinate with technicians to ensure necessary parts and equipment are available for scheduled services.

  • Monitor service progress and keep customers informed of any delays or additional repairs identified during the process.

3. Mechanic Direction and Support:

  • Evaluate service requests and translate customer concerns into clear instructions for mechanics.

  • Provide detailed work orders to mechanics, outlining required repairs, parts needed, and any specific customer requests.

  • Collaborate with technicians to ensure accurate diagnosis and efficient resolution of issues.

  • Maintain open lines of communication with mechanics, addressing questions, clarifying instructions, and providing necessary support.

4. Documentation and Reporting:

  • Accurately record customer information, service requests, and work performed in the company's service management system.

  • Prepare detailed service estimates and invoices, ensuring they are accurate and transparent.

  • Document customer interactions, complaints, and resolutions, and maintain accurate records for future reference.

  • Generate reports on service activities, customer feedback, and key performance indicators as required.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; automotive technical education or certification is a plus.

  • Proven experience as an automotive service advisor or in a customer service role within the automotive industry.

  • In-depth knowledge of automotive systems and repairs, particularly related to buses.

  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish trust with customers.

  • Strong communication and active listening abilities, with the capacity to explain technical concepts in a clear and concise manner.

  • Outstanding organizational and multitasking skills to manage appointments and prioritize tasks effectively.

  • Proficiency in using service management software and computer systems.

  • Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations.

  • Valid driver's license.

Compensation Plan:

The position will be paid in a non-exempt/hourly basis and report to the Service Manager. It is a full time position.
