Your Role:
As a Production Technician, you'll be at the heart of our production process, utilizing cutting-edge technology to create products that make a difference.
*Summary: *The Production Technician is responsible to safely set up, operate, test, and adjust paper converting machinery or equipment, using any combination of electrical, electronic, mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, or computer technologies. Finished products must meet customer specifications within budgeted production rates.
Shifts: 12-hour shifts, 7 am-7 pm and 7 pm to 7 am
Key Accountabilities:
- Safely run all machines and equipment to achieve production goals.
- Operate machine (Core Machine) that converts paperboard reels into cores at specific dimensions based on a per-customer basis.
- Operate different types of machinery that aid with the packaging of the product to have a thorough understanding of how to operate the packaging end and troubleshoot all issues on the packaging equipment (this is based on line assignments).
- Utilize a basic understanding of how the rewinder operates to relieve team members while they go on break.
- Responsible for helping to maintain good housekeeping practices
- Safely run all designated machines and equipment to meet production goals
- Inspect finished products for quality and adherence to customer specifications.
- Set up and operate production equipment in accordance with current good manufacturing practices and standard operating procedures.
- Troubleshoot equipment problems; perform minor adjustments to equipment as needed.
- Use logic and reasoning to identify issues and solve problems.
- Measure and record data associated with operating equipment
- Be able to properly fill out reports based on all requirements and hand them to Supervisors
- Prepare, assemble all necessary raw materials.
- Safely load and unload items from machines and conveyors
- Provide reports to Shift Supervisors as needed (e.g., Production, Logs, Changeovers, etc.)
- Communicate effectively with teammates.
- Share knowledge and train others.
Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- High School diploma or General Equivalency Diploma (GED)
- 6 months to 1 year of manufacturing machine operator experience
- Certified in all designated machine operating skills on at least one Converting line
- Lift, push, and pull up to 55 lbs. repeatedly
- Stand and/or walk regularly for the entire shift
- Available to work all shifts, weekends, and overtime
- Mechanical reasoning
- Basic computer skills
- Ability to read and comprehend instructions, write simple correspondence.
- Ability to see details at close range (within a few feet of the observer)
- Ability to actively listen and understand information and ideas presented through spoken words and sentences.
- Ability to move your hand, your hand together with your arm, or your two hands to grasp, manipulate, or assemble objects.
- Perform in a fast-paced environment.
- Pass a drug test, criminal background, and employment verification process
Essential Job Functions:
