Description

We're hiring a Porter ! The Porter is responsible for supporting the bakery production process by making sure that the production line is clean and maintains an appropriate level of stock during production. Other duties will include:

  • Breakdown and sanitation of production equipment

  • Daily and downtime sanitation

  • Use approved chemicals to sanitize areas

  • Use high pressure and high-volume water hoses to clean surfaces

  • Follow company safety guidelines and Good Manufacturing Practices

  • Keeping and maintaining re-stock production stations with ingredients necessary for processing (Chocolate, glaze, sprinkles, and icing)

  • Receiving supply truck a few times a week and putting away product/goods- with FIFO system in place

  • Performing daily temperature checks in coolers, freezers as needed

  • Daily stocking of products/goods

  • Work involves daily exposure to unusual elements, such as dirt, dust, fumes, darkness, and/or noise. Seasonal exposure to weather elements to include, but not limited to, extreme temperatures, wetness and humidity

  • Work environment involves daily exposure to physical risks, such as working around mechanical equipment, hand jack, chemical hazards, and electrical hazards

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED preferred

  • Must be comfortable with the working conditions described above

  • Must be able to climb vertical ladders

  • Ability to stand, walk around office and plant; lifting and carrying packages up to 50 pounds; utilizing fine dexterity, and reaching, kneeling, crawling and twisting as others by utilizing professional etiquette
