Covenant Health SECURITY OFFICER in Lewiston, Maine

JOB SUMMARY

The Security Officer at St. Mary's Health System will be responsible for providing a safe and secure environment for employees, patients, and visitors. They will perform escort duties, provide valet parking services and assist lost or confused patients, visitors, or residents. They will provide special services to staff, vendors, and visitors, such as jump starts, lock-outs, and escorts. They will be responsible for performing effective parking enforcement with an appropriate degree of discretion, entering information in the Motor Vehicle database. The Security Officer will conduct effective inside and outside patrols and report safety, risk, or maintenance issues and identify and appropriately follow up on breaches of security.

JOB REQUIREMENTS

Education:

  • High School diploma or equivalent required

Experience:

  • 1-year experience in a security role preferred

  • Valid Driver's License required

Other Skills Required:

  • Excellent analytical skills

  • Excellent customer relations skills required

  • Ability to read/comprehend written instructions

  • Ability to handle multiple priorities at once

  • Ability to make decisions under pressure and manage anger/fear/hostility/violence
