Evangelical Community Hospital Security Officer in Lewisburg, Pennsylvania
PURPOSE OF YOUR POSITION
Responsible for maintaining safety and security of the Hospital properties and campuses. Maintains safety and security of patients, visitors and employees. Conducts routine patrols of the property to keep persons from risk. Primary emphasis is placed on the protection of life and assets, prevention of loss, reduction of the risk of crime.
Excellent customer service skills required. Requires dealing with unpleasant, angry or discourteous people, includes conflict situations and maintain composure.
Performs both foot patrol and vehicle patrol of facilities and grounds (21-50% of work time).
Work frequently includes other various physical demands including standing, balancing, crouching, pulling, and kneeling (21-50% of work time).
Work occasionally requires high physical effort requiring above average strength and stamina. Must be able to push or slide up to 100 pounds (6-21% of work time).
Work is frequently performed under extreme environmental conditions and temperatures and may be performed outside in unpleasant weather conditions or involves particularly hazardous work. May be required to work in areas requiring safety equipment (21-50% of work time).
Subject to infectious diseases, substances, and wastes.
Occasionally required to be on-call for emergency situations and/or must be available to work weekend or rotating shifts (6-20% of work time).

High school diploma required.
One year of experience in the security field preferred. Previous military, institutional or local police experience preferred. Within 6 months of employment, achieve the IAHSS Healthcare Officer Basic certification and a crisis intervention prevention course such as MOAB or CPI.
Required to successfully complete training provided by Hospital certified instructors within 30 days of hire in the areas of Taser CEW, Oleoresin Capsicum Aerosol Training (OCAT), and Practical and Tactical Handcuffing (PATH)
Within 6 months of employment, achieve the IAHSS Healthcare Officer Basic certification and a crisis intervention prevention course such as MOAB or CPI.
Current Pennsylvania drivers license required.
Pennsylvania state police criminal record check, child abuse history clearance and an FBI criminal history check required.
Work requires basic computer literacy including knowledge of email, internet research and navigation. Computer literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Word, spreadsheet Applications and CCTV/Access control systems.
Work requires occasional interpersonal contact to exchange information between team members and customers (6-20% of work time).
Work requires constant adaptation to multiple demands and is frequently performed under tight deadlines. Must be able to maintain concentration, visual acuity and alertness for long periods of time (21-50% of work time).
Driving a company vehicle (or personal vehicle, as required) is a requirement of this position, and as a condition of employment this position requires the job holder to have and maintain a satisfactory driving record. ?Valid PA driver's license and proof of current automobile insurance coverage required. ?Driving records are obtained prior to new hire starting and are checked intermittently as needed but not less than every three years.
