Boston Symphony Orchestra at Tanglewood Residence Life Assistant in Lenox, Massachusetts

SUMMARY The Residence Life Assistant serves as a liaison between TMC management, faculty, and fellows regarding residential issues. The person in this position works as part of a team to ensure the smooth day-to-day operations of the residence life office, and that the needs of residents and TMC management are met in a timely and professional manner. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES - Communicate to residents all residence hall guidelines, arrival and departure details, seasonal and daily transportation details, and practice room policies. - Assist with the coordination of housing assignments, check-in and departure events, seasonal transportation, and room inspections. - Serve as a contact and resource on residential and personal issues for students. - Assist with the resolution of routine matters as they arise, and Residence Life Supervisor and Dean of Fellows to resolve more serious matters and implement student disciplinary actions. - Promptly advise the Dean of Fellows of observations and concerts, including potentially harmful student behaviors. - Assist with the posting and updating of TMC fellow schedules. - Prepare and staff several parties for fellows at Miss Hall\'s School. - Work with Dean of Fellows to anticipate the need for operations changes when rehearsal and performance schedules conflict with meal times and locations. - Addition duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS - Experience working in residential life, preferably in a supervisory role, required. - Excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills as well as a pleasant manner, tact, patience, and the ability to establish and maintain trust and confidentiality. - Comfort in dealing with a variety of disciplinary actions. - A willingness to work a flexible schedule, including nights and weekends. - Ability to work well as a member of a team in a fast-paced environment. - Basic computer proficiency. - A valid driver\'s license and clean driving record.
