Description
Dalton Ag is a brand forged in America’s heartland and proud to be the premier fertilizer application equipment manufacturer since 1996. The Operations Manager is responsible for all manufacturing processes inside and outside of the plant including day-to-day activities of the company ensuring the organization performs efficiently and effectively.
Requirements
Supervisory Responsibilities:
Participates in the hiring and training & development of manufacturing team
Lead, motivate, and support a large team within a time-sensitive and demanding environment, including career development plans for direct reports and problem resolution
Increase the efficiency of existing processes and procedures to enhance Dalton Ag’s internal capacity
Ensure operational activities remain on time and within budget
Organize and oversee the work and schedules of departmental supervisors
Conduct timely and constructive performance reviews
Develop, implement, and maintain quality assurance protocols
Duties and Responsibilities:
Manage data collection for the updating of metrics to achieve productivity targets, reduce cost per unit, eliminate errors, and deliver excellent customer service
Computer skills with ability to navigate proprietary software. Experience with ERP systems preferred
Reviews, analyzes, and implements policies and procedures that will improve day-to-day operations
Ensures organized, clean and injury free working environment
Communicates new directives, policies, or procedures to staff
Diligence in good housekeeping processes within manufacturing areas as well as exterior building and grounds
Leads coordination and integration of efforts among operations, engineering, sales, and shipping departments to produce smoother workflow and more cost-effective business processes
Projects a positive image of the organization to employees, customers, industry, and community
Performs other related duties as assigned

Thorough understanding of practices, theories, and policies to achieve operational efficiency
Superior verbal and written communication and people skills
Superior managerial and diplomacy skills
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software
Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail
Excellent analytical, decision-making, and critical thinking skills
Education/Experience:
Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in operations management, engineering, or related field
Diversified background with 5-10 years of related experience
Work environment and Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
Prolonged periods of sitting and working on a computer
Outside work required, ability to function in all elements of weather
Ability to lift up to 50 pounds
Safety glasses, safety shoes and hearing protection are required in all manufacturing areas
Other PPE as required
